The elevator arrived, and they both stepped in, but Ava turned to face him, not giving up on her previous line of questioning.

    Ava: "Hey. Look at me."

He felt like a child getting a lecture. Antsy, and a little embarrassed.

Ava: "Alek hates me, and he's not remotely interested in me, John. He was just surprised I didn't cry because I spilt blood on my 500 dollar jeans."

"Alek is interested in every beautiful woman, Ava."

He began to get perturbed again, but then she stood on her toes to give him a kiss, drawing his attention back to her.

Ava: "I gotta admit...you're cute when you're jealous..."

"I am not jealous. I just don't want him getting any untoward ideas."

Luckily they reached the infirmary, nearly giving the doctor on duty a heart attack when he noticed all the blood on Ava. She slipped into a restroom to clean up and change.

Doctor: [to John] "You may of course wait with me your majesty."

Already annoyed from their earlier encounter, he was about to tell the doctor that he would go where he damn well pleased, but then the doctor bowed to him, and John took a deep breath and sat in the chair that was offered. He knew Ava didn't like doctors, and he didn't like making her do things she didn't want to, but they needed to be sure everything was okay, especially if they were going to go out of town for a while. He fidgeted in his chair, looking over at the doctor.

"So, do people usually need additional medical attention after being healed magickally, or...?"

Ava could see in John's eyes how annoyed he was when they were in the elevator. She tried to reassure him that Alek hated her and had zero interest in her.

John: "Alek is interested in every beautiful woman, Ava."

Ava scoffed at that, rolling her eyes. While Alek did chase after anything in a skirt, if he were even remotely interested in her, he would have tried to fuck her already.

"First of all, I doubt he thinks i'm beautiful. And secondly, i'm not even his type. Ashley, Haleigh, and Brienne? All blonde haired, blue eyed. Me? Black on black on black."

A smile tugged on the corner of Ava's lips, trying to lighten the mood with a little joke before rising to her toes and kissing him. The elevator doors then opened, Ava walking hand in hand with John to the infirmary. She admitted that he was pretty hot when he was jealous, but that seemed to light another fire under his ass, his expression becoming more severe.

John: "I am not jealous. I just don't want him getting any untoward ideas."

    "Okay.."

Ava had found the situation light hearted and amusing, but John obviously didn't feel the same way. All her little jokes fell on deaf ears and seemed to make him more heated. So as they approached the infirmary, Ava's smile slowly dissipated, letting the topic go. The doctor nearly had a heart attack at Ava covered in blood, but she reassured him she was fine and it wan't hers. He handed her a gown and she went off into the bathroom to clean up and change. Washing her hands and forearms thoroughly to get all the blood off, she used a damp towel to clean the blood spatters and smears off her face and neck, getting the majority of it off. She would definitely still need a shower, but at least she didn't look like she walked off a horror movie set anymore. Changing into her given gown, Ava pulled her hair back into a high messy bun before walking back out into the office to see John sitting by the examination table still looking rather wound up.

John: "So, do people usually need additional medical attention after being healed magickally, or...?"

Doctor: "Not typically. Magick can fully heal someone, but there might be some lingering discomfort afterwards which i'm assuming is the case with the Black Queen. [looking up at Ava] Please your majesty, take a seat on the table."

Ava slid herself up on top of the examination table as the doctor came in front of her and began to check around her neck, pressing it gently with his hands while visually examining it.

Doctor: "No swelling or bruising. The White Princesses magick seemed to do the trick. Now say 'ah'."

He grabbed his otoscope as Ava opened her mouth saying 'ah' like the doctor asked. As he began to examine it, Ava gently started to cough, the strain on her vocal chores tickling her throat.

    "Sorry."

Doctor: "It's quite alright, your majesty. I can see that your vocal chords are strained from the force of the strangulation last night. While the White Princess did heal them completely, you'll just be suffering with a bit of laryngitis for a few days as a result until they fully heal. It's nothing serious, but you should rest your voice in an effort to help along the process."

Ava nodded as the doctor proceeded to check her pulse, breathing, and blood pressure which all came back normal as well. After checking the rest of her, he nodded with confidence.

Doctor: "Outside of the laryngitis and a little muscle soreness, you're in perfect health your majesty. The White Princess' magick did wonderfully to heal you and your wounds. Just rest your voice and take it easy the next few days and you'll be back to normal soon enough."

Ava nodded, sliding off the exam table.

    "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor bowed respectfully, excusing himself to allow Ava and John some privacy. Ava looked at John, giving him a half smile.

"So i'm just going to sound like a frog for a few days. Not bad considering."

She chuckled, hoping that maybe his mood had swayed a bit since they arrived.

While he waited for Ava to change, the doctor answered his question about whether people usually needed additional medical attention after being healed by magickal means.

Doctor: "Not typically. Magick can fully heal someone, but there might be some lingering discomfort afterwards which I'm assuming is the case with the Black Queen. [looking up at Ava] Please your majesty, take a seat on the table."

Ava got up on the exam table, and John tried to give her a reassuring smile. But what he didn't want, was everyone assuming Ava was okay, and then they miss something wrong.

Doctor: "No swelling or bruising. The White Princesses magick seemed to do the trick. Now say 'ah'. I can see that your vocal chords are strained from the force of the strangulation last night. While the White Princess did heal them completely, you'll just be suffering with a bit of laryngitis for a few days as a result until they fully heal. It's nothing serious, but you should rest your voice in an effort to help along the process."

Everything else seemed normal, according to the doctor, which was a great relief.

Doctor: "Outside of the laryngitis and a little muscle soreness, you're in perfect health your majesty. The White Princess' magick did wonderfully to heal you and your wounds. Just rest your voice and take it easy the next few days and you'll be back to normal soon enough."

The doctor took his leave, and John stood, reaching out a hand to help Ava down from the table.

Ava: "So I'm just going to sound like a frog for a few days. Not bad considering."

"I prefer to think of it as sounding like a porn star."

He reached up and playfully squeezed the bun on the top of her head.

"We can get you a tablet and pen so you can rest your voice. Or maybe you could type on your phone..."

He looked into her face, trying to discern if she were really okay.

"And of course, lots of tea with lemon."

As the doctor left, John stood from his seat and extended his hand out to her, Ava taking it and allowing him to help her off the table. She joked that she would be sounding like a frog for the next few days, but it wasn't so bad considering she had a clean bill of health.

John: "I prefer to think of it as sounding like a porn star."

Ava frowned [though not in anger] as he playfully squeezed her messy bun.

"I guess if my Queenship doesn't pan out, I know what field to go into."

Ava finally smiled teasingly before chuckling.

John: "We can get you a tablet and pen so you can rest your voice. Or maybe you could type on your phone....And of course, lots of tea with lemon."

John was giving her that look, the one he had when he was concerned and worried.

"I'll be fine, babe. Plus, if we really are planning on leaving for Paris today, the last thing I want is to be mute."

That was when a salacious smirk tugged on the corners of Ava's lips, her arms circling around his neck as she pulled her body against his. Her mouth was barely touching John's, though her breath was hot against his lips.

"And you know I can't be mute with you...."

She grinned before pressing her lips against his, kissing him deeply. Her hands ran up the back of his head, lips curling back into a smile as she broke the kiss.

"I can call and have the jet fueled and ready in a half hour."

Ava quipped that she would sound like a frog for a few days, but John turned that around to porn star.

Ava: "I guess if my Queenship doesn't pan out, I know what field to go into."

She gave him a teasing smile, and the faintest hint of smile played on his own lips.

"Not if I have to beg for money on the street."

He told her she needed to rest her voice, and use a pen and paper or her phone to communicate until her throat was better.

Ava: "I'll be fine, babe. Plus, if we really are planning on leaving for Paris today, the last thing I want is to be mute."

She gave him a look that made his smile widen, and he leaned closer to her, putting his arms around her waist while hers came around his neck.

Ava: "And you know I can't be mute with you...."

"Well maybe you should save your voice now for later."

She kissed him then, and he sank into it, the relief that she was really okay washing over him.

Ava: "I can call and have the jet fueled and ready in a half hour."

"We just need to see what Cameron found out regarding Brienne, and wave goodbye to the Londoners, and then we are gone."

He reached one hand into his pocket and checked his phone, then put it back.

    "Nothing yet."

He looked down between them at her hospital gown.

"You know, I think you should wear that on the plane. Do you think it comes in black?"

If one thing was for certain, the moment they left Hellfire for Paris, there was no way that Ava would be able to keep from talking, or partaking in other vocal activities, when alone with John. She had more than a healthy sexual appetite, but considering they had been interrupted, scheduled, and partied out all weekend, she knew her voice would be in use the second they left.

John: "Well maybe you should save your voice now for later."

Ava's arms were wrapped around John's neck, as his own arms hugged her waist pulling her against him. Ava smiled, miming 'good idea' with her lips before pressing them against his. She immediately felt him melting into their kiss, and she knew that finally he was starting to relax at the idea that she was okay. Pulling back, Ava offered to call the airport to get the jet fueled up so they could leave immediately like John had wanted earlier.

John: "We just need to see what Cameron found out regarding Brienne, and wave goodbye to the Londoners, and then we are gone."

Ava frowned. Fucking Brienne. She had almost forgotten about that. John reached into his pocket and looked down at his phone, saying Cameron hadn't texted him yet on an update. Ava sighed, hoping that Brienne didn't somehow seduce Cameron, or vice versa as a middle finger to Haleigh.

John: "You know, I think you should wear that on the plane. Do you think it comes in black?"

John was looking between them, assessing her standard white and grey hospital gown that gave her no shape whatsoever. She gently chuckled, wondering how he found her remotely attractive in that moment, but not minding in the slightest that he did.

"Wanting to play out a doctor/patient fantasy, huh?"

She grinned as her hands reached behind her back to his, sliding them down to the back opening of her gown so he could grip her bare ass.

"I think I can suffer through this color if you get to be my doctor."

Rising to her toes, she gave John a little peck.

"But in the mean time, i'll save the gown for later. I need to clean up before we see of the Europeans."

The thought of getting back into her dirty clothing was less than appealing. Ava shrugged, deciding to just head back to their chambers in the gown so she could immediately shower.

"I'll send for a servant to pick up my clothes."

Ava turned around so her back was to John, pulling his arms around her body as she began to walk to the infirmary exit. She looked over her shoulder with a sultry and playful grin.

    "Watch my back?"

There were standing in the middle of the infirmary, arms around each other, like they were in their own suite rather than an exam room. He commented teasingly about her hospital gown - though if anyone could look good in one, she could.

Ava: "Wanting to play out a doctor/patient fantasy, huh?"

    He laughed.

"Yes, if it would mean you would listen to me for once."

Things got interesting then, and his eyes held hers while she put her hands on his and moved them inside her hospital gown to her ass.

Ava: "I think I can suffer through this color if you get to be my doctor."

He grinned with a touch of salaciousness, and leaned in to nuzzle her neck as his hands have her bare cheeks a squeeze.

"I'll make you feel all better..."

    He chuckled.

"And I promise you won't have to wear the gown for long."

He picked his head up to look at her, and gave her a wink. Ava stood on her toes to give him a peck on the lips.

Ava: "But in the mean time, i'll save the gown for later. I need to clean up before we see of the Europeans."

    He chuckled again.

"I don't know - you might make a distinct impression if you show up covered in blood."

She decided to head back to their room in the gown, and pulled him behind her, wrapping his arms around her.

    Ava: "Watch my back?"

    He laughed.

"Always. And I would be happy to help you clean up as well."

It seemed as if John wanted to do a little role playing with her dressed in the hospital gown. She teasingly called him out, not that she minded in the slightest. Ava did wonder what sorts of fantasies John had about her, and if she could make them come true.

John: "Yes, if it would mean you would listen to me for once."

    "Hey!"

Ava exclaimed with a laugh, shoving against John playfully. She wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling him pull her close as she pressed her body against him. She told him she would suffer the horrific color and style of the gown if it meant he could be her doctor, because really? Who wouldn't want someone who looked like John to check their temperature? Speaking of temperature, Ava placed her hands on his, guiding them between the flaps of the gown and to her bare ass. He grinned naughtily before he began to nuzzle her neck.

John: "I'll make you feel all better..."

    "Mmmm..."

Ava's hands slid up his muscular back as John's gave her ass a squeeze. Biting her lip, they needed to get out of the infirmary before they ended up fucking on the exam table.

John: "And I promise you won't have to wear the gown for long."

Ava deeply chuckled as John pulled back and winked at her.

"I'm holding you to that, my King."

She lifted to her toes and gave him a peck before stating that she needed to get cleaned up before seeing the Europeans off. John teased about making an impression if she showed up covered in blood, but Ava was pretty certain the American branch made a lasting impression after how the weekend went and decided a shower was the much better option. She headed for the infirmary exit, pulling John's arms around her so his body concealed the open back of her gown. Not that she care who saw her, but she knew John would...and frankly, him pressed against her from behind was always a good feeling.

She looked over her shoulder with a sexy smile.

    "Watch my back?"

John: "Always. And I would be happy to help you clean up as well."

Ava grinned, laughing with John as they exited the infirmary and began to head back down toward the Black Wing.

"I definitely need to make up for not fucking you in the shower last night...."

Ava teased, her arms holding his around her as she giggled. The night before she was so inside her own head after what happened with Archer that she wanted to make love to John properly. In a way that expressed her feelings and how she needed and wanted him. She craved that feeling - that intimacy so badly. But today? Her emotions were far more stable, especially after getting to kill that bastard that helped lead her to her attack. Now she wanted to have fun and not think about the black cloud that was Archer. At least not until Cameron got back to them on whether Brienne was involved in the attack. So as they reached their chambers, Ava grinned as she broke away from John's arms and turned around to face him, walking backwards toward the bathroom as she easily pulled the large gown over her head and off her body.

"I do believe I might need a sponge bath, Doctor..."

Throwing the gown at John with a grin.

"Maybe check my heart rate? I'm feeling a little hot."

Her tone was innocent and playful but her smile was anything but as she disappeared into the bathroom and immediately turned on the shower.

They teasingly went back & forth about Ava wearing the hospital gown, before they started back towards their room. He couldn't blame her for not wanting to put back on her soiled clothes, but she was insisting on leaving the gown open at the back. Which he didn't mind so much after she decided to use him to fill the gap. Truthfully, he was just happy that she was okay, at least physically. He was still concerned about the way she had acted the night before - not that he didn't understand why she was shaken up - but he wasn't sure those wounds would heal as quickly as the physical ones. It made him feel helpless, and all he could do was stay with her in case she needed him.

He promised to "watch her back", a little smile forming on his lips at her naughty suggestiveness. He countered by offering to help her wash.

Ava: "I definitely need to make up for not fucking you in the shower last night...."

    "Mmm."

They walked slowly, his arms around her, making it a bit awkward. Finally they arrived at the room, and Ava turned towards him, walking backwards toward the bathroom. She slipped the gown off, and he inhaled sharply. As good as she was in it, she was that much better without it.

Ava: "I do believe I might need a sponge bath, Doctor..."

She threw him the gown, which he caught, then let fall to the floor, his eyes staying on her the entire time.

"Normally I don't give baths, but for you, Miss Cassadine, I'll make an exception."

Ava: "Maybe check my heart rate? I'm feeling a little hot."

"Yes, I can see that from here."

He pulled his shirt over his head as she entered the bathroom, smiling as he heard the water turn on. His pants followed the shirt, and then he stepped into the room, already getting steamy. He opened the door to the shower, and watched the water run over her body for a few seconds before stepping in and taking her in his arms.

Cameron started with a quip to which Brienne countered like the good wasp they both were.

Brienne: "And there was talk of you wanting your Red King's head in your trophy room...but I digress."

The White King cocked an amused eyebrow and found himself a bit aroused at the thought of Alek's head on his wall. Or to stuff him like the bear he was and display him in The White Wing for all to see. He went on to explain to Brienne that he never hated her, that in fact he had always been a bit fond of her. And he could sense the feelings stirring between her and his Rook, which he would leverage if necessary. The men in power who had slept with his wife was beginning to burgeon in numbers, and it was making him uncomfortable. Brienne hissed with a mixture of anger and embarassment.

Brienne: "Oh fuck you. If I wanted Ava dead, she would be dead; but I wouldn't have attempted to kill her in your home club. Archer may have been a savvy King in some aspects, but he was a fucking dolt in others."

The White King nodded in agreement, sensing that Brienne was wary of him at best. He mentioned Erika speaking on her behalf because it was twofold - Erika and Zach had struck a quick flame that fizzled out. It meant that Erika was over whatever it was that she had with Zach, and that she was willing to look past it. It was important to him that The Shaws and The Kings stick together in this kind of climate, and he needed her to know that she had the backing of The Kings if she was willing to play ball. But there was one thing Cameron needed to get off of his chest.

"I'm not the biggest supporter of magick..and it's because I have never found a woman who does not end up corrupted by it. Consumed. Channeling mystical energies, drawing on forces that are so much greater than the powers of mutants...there is no way not to become intoxicated with it. Not to eventually separate from your loyalty and turn your gaze to yourself...but you haven't."

Brienne: "No, I haven't. I know my abilities well."

Had there been a King woman in the room, that line would have caused an altercation, but Cameron could stomach it. In fact, he liked the adverserial nature of Kelly, Erika and Brienne's relationship. They were in some kind of other competition that was beyond Hellfire and it kept them in each other's peripheral vision. And that meant everybody stayed safe.

"You are just about the only witch I've met that is able to separate her mortal life, from the power she clings to. Not to stoke your rage, but people look at you and find you...petty...spoiled, uninterested. They underestimate you a great deal, but they don't know the kind of control it takes to do what you do, Brienne."

Her hesitation had caused him to slip to flattery.

Brienne: "No, they don't. Which is why, eventually, they'll all end up dead."

"Well don't count your chickens just yet, Bri."

Cameron smirked, informing her that he knew for sure that his daughter had magickal blood in her veins, and he could already sense the presence of his son. Suffice to say, these kids were not going to survive on hope alone. They needed protection. They needed training, and they needed it from somebody who could understand their power.

Brienne: "Fantastic...more King's. Congratulations. Hopefully your children will take after you instead of your psychotic mother and sister."

"You say that as if you don't know that I'm more twisted than both of them combined."

Cameron smirked before he threw his cards on the table and asked for what he wanted - for an alliance with Brienne and for her to give his children guidance and protection in exchange for ensuring her safety while she navigated what a court without Archer needed to look like. His words seemed to cause her face to appear shocked, well as shocked as Brienne could look.

Brienne: "I'm sorry...sorry...no, i'm just...I'm just utterly shocked. If you have told me last night that you would be asking for my help in protecting your children, I would have thought you were as mad as your family. Jesus, Cameron. I thought you were calling me in here today to start a war with me, not ask for my alliance. So forgive me, I'm trying to process all this."

"Pretty sure I started a War last night...of the roses, anyway. But it's not as out of left field as you think.."

But she didn't need much more convincing.

Brienne: "I have a few terms before I agree."

    "Go on."

Brienne: "I will not be ostracized or treated like some kind of rotten apple when visiting your branch. I will be treated by your guards, your staff, and more importantly, your Inner Circle with respect. Like the regent that I am. There has been a lack of that all weekend long and I'm tired of it."

"You will be regarded as a member of my Inner Circle, an official Liasion of The White King, and in turn I will be yours. It's an old, mostly glamour appointment that hasn't been used in decades, but it still exists. And it will give us both a level of protection I think we could use. Besides, my wife is already pulling the red court firmly into her pocket, it's only fair she should let me keep the white. It will be a symbolic declaration of The White Court's support for you."

Cameron took another drink of his scotch, taking a moment to refresh her drink, as both of them didn't like to have this lengthy of a conversation without a strong buzz. He leaned back as she continued.

Brienne: "Secondly, I am free to use my magick as I please from here on out. I will not be ashamed or hide who I am because this club has a history with witches. If you want your children growing up around magick, then you and your "wife" need to learn to embrace it."

The White King scoffed a bit.

"Nobody gets to use their powers with free reign here. If we did, we'd have all killed each other by now. You will follow the same rules as all of us who have very invasive and penetrating powers do. Though morals are cloudy here, there is a base level of respect. Use your power with respect and we will have no problems whatsoever."

He was alluding to her spell cast from boredom in Arklay Forest that STARTED this whole bloody mess. He was angry with Brienne, but she didn't stoke what wasn't there. If she had been manufacturing feelings, forcing it by use of her magick, it would be a very different conversation. There would be no stuffed bear in his study, but there would be a witch burned at the stake. He'd killed other witches for far less.

    Brienne: "And third..."

Cameron widened his eyes and smirked.

    "Oh, great. There's more..."

Brienne: "And third...your Rook, Zach. He has been the only person here who's treated me kindly since my arrival. I've grown...fond of him. And I would like to bid for his Kingship. I've spoken to him about it, and if he does agree, then I need for you to discuss this with your White Queen."

Though he saw it coming, he was a bit gob smacked. She really cared about him. In a very short period of time. So much so that she was willing to make him her King. And though Cameron wanted people to be happy, he began to view Hellfire as almost a literal chess table. Things were up in the air with his wife, and white was not his original court. He was worried if things continued as poor as it had been so far between them, he might be facing off against his wife for survival, and that meant he needed to stack the deck in his favor, or at least, make it a little harder for his wife to destroy him. She had Alek, and though he knew it wasn't as strong as it could be, he felt that Ashley had a connection with him. That she didn't want to see him go, and with how things were now, WOULDN'T see him go as Haleigh was beginning her ascencion towards power. Zach would be an ally for Haleigh more than Cameron if he was to leave, but if he was the cost of Brienne's loyalty, he didn't much see any other options. It was all very unsettling, thinking of his family as currency. But this was where he was at. This was now business. And Cameron was not just The King of The White Court, but a King of Wallstreet. He was good at it. Right now he was a bad stock purchase, and he needed to figure out a way to turn a profit that didn't involve just selling it and move on. More than that he was a father. And he intended to be around for Carolina and his son forever.

"I will speak to Haleigh, but if I'm being frank, Haleigh will not let him go easily. Especially in times like these. But she also won't deny him his happiness. If he wants this, he needs to go to her and tell her just that. Otherwise it will just look like I'm making some kind of nefarious play."

He made no mention of her feelings or trying to explore them, because Brienne was incredibly private with that stuff. While she was no empath, in terms of people he had met capable of controlling their emotions by sheer to that degree? He had met only one other - Ava. He was going to have to be on the edge of his seat like somebody else, but he did genuinely enjoy seeing her be a bit more human and vulnerable in front of him. It meant she was opening up. Zach might end up being VERY good for her.

Brienne: "If you can fullfill my requests? Then you will have the Black Court's alliance, which includes protecting your children. This will also be a two way street, Cameron. I need to be able to rely on YOUR court in return if I ever need it."

    "You're right...it IS a two way street."

If Zach left, The White Court would remain firmly in his pocket. His Knight would not betray him, and neither would his sister. In fact, his sister was beginning to act as his buffer. He would be able to make good on his word, which only furthered his doubt that Haleigh would let their rook leave and join Brienne in Europe.

"We need each other right now. You keep to your word and I'll keep mine. And I know it doesn't look like it as of late, but...my word is my bond. I don't offer what I can't accomplish."

The White King rose to his feet, taking a sip of scotch, extending his left hand out.

"So we have a deal, then? I need to fill Jon and Ava in on our conversation."

The conversation with the White King had gone in a direction that even Brienne hadn't anticipated. She was fully expecting to have to defend herself despite her innocents. But Cameron had come at her with a one two punch of believing she had nothing to do with Archer's plans, and also wanting to create an alliance with her in order to protect his future children, which happened to be part witch. It was shocking, and quite hilarious, but Brienne needed to take this opportunity before it slipped away. She was on eggshells with the American's because of her aloof attitude and the madness Archer had caused. However, Cameron was also on the outs with his own club because of his actions after finding out Haleigh was pregnant with Alek's child. But, pickers couldn't be choosers, and she needed someone strong in her corner, even if it was a King.

Cameron: "You will be regarded as a member of my Inner Circle, an official Liasion of The White King, and in turn I will be yours."

Brienne coughed out a sardonic laugh.

"You're wife is going to love that."

    Added perk in Brienne's opinion.

Cameron: "It's an old, mostly glamour appointment that hasn't been used in decades, but it still exists. And it will give us both a level of protection I think we could use. Besides, my wife is already pulling the red court firmly into her pocket, it's only fair she should let me keep the white. It will be a symbolic declaration of The White Court's support for you."

Brienne lifted her brows, quite surprised at Cameron's admission. She hadn't been there for the latter portion of the White King and Queen's dramatic climax at the Red Party, but judging from the way he was speaking, it hadn't ended well.

"Word of advice from a "friend" [Brienne held up her fingers giving air quotes], if you talk about division of courts now in regards to your wife? Alek has already won."

Did she want to give advice to Cameron? No. Did she enjoy watching his and Haleigh's little world imploding around them? Yes. But....he was now a 'liasion' so she might as well help him out a bit.

"He's lapping up all your fuck ups like a parched dog to water. Be a little more savvy, King. I know you have it in you."

Okay, she was done being nice. Back to business. She brought up the fact that she wanted to use her powers freely instead of fearing 'retaliation' from him or anyone else within the Inner Circle. Cameron scoffed making Brienne raise a challenging eyebrow.

Cameron: "Nobody gets to use their powers with free reign here. If we did, we'd have all killed each other by now. You will follow the same rules as all of us who have very invasive and penetrating powers do. Though morals are cloudy here, there is a base level of respect. Use your power with respect and we will have no problems whatsoever."

A smirk crept on Brienne's lips, knowing there was an underlining reference to what she did to Alek and Haleigh. However, she didn't force those feelings into them, she only enhanced what they were already feeling, and Brienne knew Cameron was fully aware of that otherwise this conversation would have been going in a completely different direction.

"Let me rephrase. I WILL use my abilities within limit....as per my own clubs rules. I was warned early on here that any magick used was taboo. But as long as we mutually understand that I can and will use my abilities without harm or intrusion of your Inner Circle? Then we will be fine."

The London Branch had similar rules as far as abilities went. Club patrons were free game, but using ones abilities against another Inner Circle member was off limits. She would respect and abide by those rules at the American Branch as well. Now that they had the magick situation resolved, there was one more term Brienne wanted to discuss, and this one was a bit more...unnerving to bring up.

    "And third..."

    Cameron: "Oh, great. There's more..."

She narrowed her eyes at his obvious sarcasm.

"And third....your Rook, Zach. He has been the only person here who's treated me kindly since my arrival. I've grown...fond of him. And I would like to bid for his Kingship. I've spoken to him about it, and if he does agree, then I need for you to discuss this with your White Queen."

Brienne hated having to put this out on the table because it meant she was putting a piece of her heart on the table for Cameron to crush. She hadn't come into this weekend looking for a new King, let alone someone whom she was actually starting to have feelings for. It happened so fast, but she suspected that happened with Zach a lot. He had an ability to make a person feel completely comfortable and calm around him, taking away their doubts by literally making them feel his own. And he had done that with her, again and again to prove he wasn't using her. She may have been a fool to want to appoint him her King so quickly, but she trusted her gut, and it was telling her it was the right move.

Cameron: "I will speak to Haleigh, but if I'm being frank, Haleigh will not let him go easily.

    Brienne rolled her eyes.

"Doesn't your wife have enough men at the moment?"

Cameron: "Especially in times like these. But she also won't deny him his happiness. If he wants this, he needs to go to her and tell her just that. Otherwise it will just look like I'm making some kind of nefarious play."

Brienne nodded. She didn't know if Zach truly wanted this or was simply humoring her, but she had hoped that what he had said earlier about wanting to be her King held substance. She didn't want to be disappointed...she didn't want to leave a fool played yet again by one of Haleigh's minute men. Brienne agreed to Cameron's terms, telling him that if he agreed to hers, that she would align the Black Court with the White - just as long as it was a two way street.

Cameron: "You're right...it IS a two way street. We need each other right now. You keep to your word and I'll keep mine. And I know it doesn't look like it as of late, but...my word is my bond. I don't offer what I can't accomplish."

    "Nor do I."

    Brienne rose to her feet.

Cameron: "So we have a deal, then?"

    Cameron extended his hand.

"Looks like hell just froze over..."

Brienne took it, shaking it. The Kings and Shaws now allies.

    "We have a deal."

Cameron: "I need to fill John and Ava in on our conversation."

    Brienne sighed.

"Extend my regrets once again for what Archer did. His actions are not a reflection of me or my court."

With that, Brienne rounded her chair and headed for Cameron's office door. Upon opening it, she stopped and turned to look over her shoulder, a wicked smiling tugging on her lips. She gave Cameron a wink before snapping her fingers and shimmering out of his office, an obvious play off of their talk of using magick. Reappearing in Zach's suite, it was empty with only her suitcases laying about. Sitting on the edge of the bed Brienne sighed out, knowing the plane would be departing for London shortly, and for the first time all weekend, not wanting to board it.

Zach thanked her, when she said she’d consider his appointment to be Brienne’s Black King, but he didn’t rush to say anything else. For a moment they just looked at each other, and then the door opened. Haleigh let the air out of her lungs.

    Alek: Good Morning.

    Zach: Morning.

Her Rook said cordially, as Alek came in a kissed her cheek. Haleigh smiled softly, raising her eyebrow as Alek told her Ava's rogue guard was found and disposed of. She nodded approvingly.

    "Did Ava seem... okay?"

Zach waited for Alek to respond, and then excused himself. Haleigh watched him go, her arm sliding around Alek's waist slowly.

"There's likely to be some turnover on my Court soon."

She said, keeping her tone neutral. She turned towards him, her other arm slipping around him as she leaned into him, her body pressing against his.

"Could you have your men vet a couple of replacements for me? I'd like your opinion on Specter and Sentry, for starters. They've been my personal guards for years... but I don't want that to cloud my judgement."

She explained, looking up at him. Her hands dropped down to cup his ass, a wicked smile crossing her mouth.

"Did you have fun taking care of Ava's rogue guard this morning?"

Alek's eyes studied the scene in front of him as he entered his suite, finding Zach there with Haleigh. He said good morning, kissing Haleigh's cheek and sliding his hand around to the small of her back - a small but clear gesture should the Rook think he was going to slip back into old habits. He informed the two of them that they had found the guard who had deceived Ava, and disposed of him.

    Haleigh: "Did Ava seem...okay?"

    He chuckled.

"Better than usual, actually. She did well, for a spoiled princess like her."

Alek's eyes stayed on Zach, who appropriately excused himself then. He smiled as Haleigh's arm came around him.

Haleigh: "There's likely to be some turnover on my Court soon."

    "Zach?"

    He said, with some surprise.

"Where's he going? I know not to Red, and surely Ava wouldn't take him, even if she does have an empty position."

He actually didn't think Zach would ever leave Haleigh's side. As much as the guy irked him, Alek knew that at least he was loyal. Or so he had thought.

Haleigh turned towards him, and he body in his robe was pressing against his, which garnered all of his attention. He smiled at her.

"How are you doing this morning?"

She wasn't finished on the subject of Zach, however.

Haleigh: "Could you have your men vet a couple of replacements for me? I'd like your opinion on Specter and Sentry, for starters. They've been my personal guards for years... but I don't want that to cloud my judgement."

"Of course, if that's what you want. But..."

He met her eyes, looking to see what emotions were there.

"Are you sure this is the best time to be losing the most loyal member of your court? I know you have history with Zach - but that doesn't mean you aren't his Queen. And frankly, I'm surprised he would even consider leaving you at a time like this."

He bristled a bit, but then she was looking at him in that way she had, and her hands were sliding down to his ass, and she had his attention once again.

Haleigh: "Did you have fun taking care of Ava's rogue guard this morning?"

    He scoffed.

"She wanted him all for herself - I was strictly hands off. She doesn't let me play like you do."

He watched her carefully, while his hand found its way inside the opening of her robe, feeling the heat of her skin.

"I'm sorry I had to leave you so early..."

Alek relayed that Ava was good, better than he’d probably expected, given his usual opinion of the Black Queen. Haleigh gave a nod.

“She’s stronger than her reputation would imply.”

Haleigh replied, and Zach mentioned he’d give Haleigh some time to think, his way of excusing himself. Haleigh turned towards Alek, telling him there was likely to be some turnover on her Court soon. Alek was genuinely surprised that Zach might leave, given that there was no other place for him on the other courts.

“Not here, Europe. Brienne tried and failed to steal you from me, but she can offer Zach something he won’t have here: a Kingship. Even if Cameron gets himself eliminated, my son will be Prince.”

Alek: How are you doing this morning?

    “Better now.”

She replied warmly, and then she asked if he could offer a second opinion on a couple of her men who would be up for promotion, because she didn’t want her own history with them to cloud her judgement. He agreed, but she could hear the caution in his tone. She would have guessed he would have encouraged the disappearance of Zach, as it would be elimination of ‘competition’, in a sense. But he asked instead if she was sure this was the best time to lose a loyal member of her Court.

“No, but it IS the best time to take advantage of the fresh vulnerability of the European Black Court. I don’t care HOW good Brienne is in bed, she’ll never turn Zach against me. Having someone we can trust in Europe will solidify the alliances we’ve made this weekend, and discourage any inappropriate ideas. Zach would never stand by and allow any of them to take up arms against me.”

She countered, working through her own thoughts methodically. She still hadn’t fully decided, but it seemed like there were more pros than cons. Cameron’s belligerence was the only issue negatively affecting the timing, and with the support of the other Courts already assured, it was a risk that could be acceptable, if there was enough to gain from it. She would continue to weigh the options, but for now, she asked him if he had fun with Ava’s guard. Apparently not, since Ava didn’t share.

    “What a tease.

She said with a smirk, a little pleased that she didn’t have to be jealous of him going off and having too much with Ava. His fingertips found her skin, and her pulse started to race, as he said he was sorry for leaving her so early.

    “Prove it.”

    She challenged with a smile.

Alek asked just where Zach would be going, since switching courts was unlikely for him.

Haleigh: “Not here, Europe. Brienne tried and failed to steal you from me, but she can offer Zach something he won’t have here: a Kingship. Even if Cameron gets himself eliminated, my son will be Prince.”

His face scrunched up in half confusion, half derision.

"What, is Brienne completely panick stricken now that Arch is dead? She barely knows Zach."

    He pursed his lips thoughtfully.

"I would have expected her to be more receptive to ruling alone. Though he'll be a figurehead at best."

If you wanted a backrub, Zach was your man. But to be a king? He shook his head. London would be as ineffectual as ever, which was good for them. He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Haleigh, and grinned, cocking an eyebrow.

"And she tried to steal me from you, eh? I didn't realize a competition was going on."

He chuckled, his arms closing around her waist. He asked how she was doing, considering all that had happened in the past day.

    Haleigh: “Better now.”

She asked him to go over a couple of choices as replacements. Normally, he would have loved to have Zach out of the way. But this was a dangerous time, and Haleigh needed allies, especially within her own court. He asked her if this was the best time to lose Zach.

Haleigh: “No, but it IS the best time to take advantage of the fresh vulnerability of the European Black Court. I don’t care HOW good Brienne is in bed, she’ll never turn Zach against me. Having someone we can trust in Europe will solidify the alliances we’ve made this weekend, and discourage any inappropriate ideas. Zach would never stand by and allow any of them to take up arms against me.”

"But will he stand by and allow us to take up arms against them, should the time come?"

Not that he posed much of a threat, but he knew Haleigh wouldn't want to come up on opposite sides from her Rook. She changed the subject to the disposing of Ava's guard, and he grumbled a bit at being left out of the fun parts.

    Haleigh: "What a tease.

"Yeah, I've heard that about her before."

But he didn't want to talk about Ava anymore, instead apologizing for the pursuit of the guard taking him away from her before she had woken up. His hand had found its way between the folds of her robe.

    Haleigh: “Prove it.”

She was smiling, and he knew she was playing, so he answered her little challenge with some tete a tete of his own. In one smooth movement he had scooped her up into his arms.

"We're just going to have to start all over then. Back to bed with you."

He strode towards his bed, depositing her on top of it. He then set about removing his suit, pulling the shirt and jacket over his head in a practiced movement before going for his pants. He pretended to appraise the scene in front of him.

"Were you wearing that robe? I don't think you were..."

He grinned, and reached for the tie.
